A man has turned his fish tank into a football stadium after a six-month training for his Goldfish. Now he has 5 Ranchu goldfish who know how to shoot a ball into the goal. This is about his soccer-playing goldfish.
Some say goldfish have a memory of just three seconds. But not for these football-playing goldfish. They are super smart. These Goldfish are able to dribble, pass, and shoot a bole into the goal. They have been trained to play soccer.
The goldfish owner, Yang Tianxin, loves soccer very much. So he turned his fish tank into a stadium and started training the goldfish.
How to Train Goldfish to Play Soccer?
It is definitely not common practice to train a fish but rather a dog or even a pig. But training your fish to play is not impossible anymore. According to Yang who is the owner of these soccer-playing goldfish, has been training these goldfish since they were little.
Once they are familiar with you they will push whatever you give them. I train them slowly by rewarding them with some food every time they score. Eventually, it became a conditioned response. That’s how I trained them.
Yang Tianxin – Owner of the Goldfish
Yang has kept hundreds of Ranchu Goldfish. He finds it difficult to keep the fish motivated to play.
It was very hard to train them at the beginning. They couldn’t shoot at all. Because this Ranchu breed is not very smart. So it took me a long time to teach them. It was quite mundane at that time. They lose interest if I don`t feed them food.
Yang Tianxin – Owner of the Goldfish
Five fish managed to score after three months of training. Yang sometimes holds live streams on social media which bring more than 100000 viewers at a time.
Are These Goldfish Really Playing or Are There Any Tricks?
Although many are amazed by this footballing goldfish, some wondered if the ball was controlled by a magnet underneath. But when looked closer, we can see the ball turning. If the ball is controlled by a magnet underneath, it will not move in that way. Then it will just move horizontally.
Yang plans to divide the goldfish into two teams to hold a football match in the future. Let’s see. It would be fantastic.
